Tsunami in Florida
The Facts
In Florida there are many ways to prepare for a tsunami but the first thing is to be able to detect when one is about to form. One way Florida prepares is that it has ocean floor monitors that measure the vibrations in the ground, and sends the info to a satellite which alerts the coastal guard stations. There is also a tsunami detection that measures the water level height out at deep sea. The buoy also sends the data to a satellite then the coast guard. As well as these ways there are also natural ways to detect a tsunami. The water level may drop suddenly before the tsunami hits. The ground will begin to shake signaling that an earthquake has occurred out at sea, or an unusual roaring sound will be heard.
What to do during
There are also many things to do during a tsunami, the first thing would be if you are near a beach or river that leads to the ocean to as soon as you see/hear/feel any natural warnings immediately get to higher ground! If you are further inland there will be sirens to warn you of the tsunami. The next thing is to quickly get the things that are absolutely necessary and quickly get outside and follow the instructions of the city officials to get to higher ground.
What to do after

Only use cell phones for emergency calls, such as, if someone were injured. examine if there are any loose beams or wall boars and be careful not to walk under/near them.
