The Bahamas
Catch a wave
When surfing most surfers look for many types of waves. In the Bahamas, most surfers look for an epic left-hand point beak wave. This wave has long lines which leads the cove. When surfing Surfers like to have a perfect wave, which doesn't always happen. Surfers like to ride the unbroken part or the wall of the wave. They do this because they want to stay in the white part because they don't want to hit a pocket. A great surfing wave contains wind. Wind helps give the waves a "boost." When I say boost it means it gives the wave almost a little push. Surfers love to approach large waves farther out in the ocean to catch a long surf. When approaching larger waves surfers paddle faster to get there, but many waves are approached differently depending on the weather. It depends on the weather because if it is some what windy they may approach a littler wave, but if it is more windy they may approach a larger wave with a faster paddle. When surfing, most people avoid reefs. Surfers avoid reefs for many reasons, one reason is when people fall off their boards they may hit the reef and get cut or even get concussions. A dangerous part of surfing could be falling off. When falling off your board there is a chance of drounding. When they get pulled under the water they may get trapped and may not be able to come up. Another dangerous part of surfing could be sea life. The seea life, for example a shark, can attack the surfing and even kill them.
