The Atlantic Ocean Wave Currents
Above on the left, I show wave currents on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean hitting against rocks on the border. Then, on the right, I show Virginia Beach, a city along the Atlantic Ocean. I randomly chose this city from the many cities the Atlantic Ocean stretches across all over east coast United States.

The World Ocean Circulation Experiment
The Atlantic Ocean water current is one of the most unique waterways in the world. The 76.762 square kilometer ocean is bordered by North America, South America, and Africa. The Atlantic Ocean is the second largest ocean behind the Pacific Ocean. But, this is not the only reason this particular ocean is my favorite! In the 1990's, several countries participated in the World Ocean Circulation Experiment to map global ocean currents. Some countries involved in this project include Japan, Germany, The United States, Canada, etc. This project was created to improve the ocean models necessary for predicting different climates at different times. Scientists methods were to first develop models for predicting climate change. Then, after they finished that step, they decided to determine the representatives of the specific WOCE data base. That is how the project was created!
