Tsunamis in California
Japan’s 8.9 earthquake had started the tsunami on the West Coast. The tsunami hit California. The tsunami destroyed many houses, boats, docks, and lives were lost. No one was taking the tsunami seriously and they didn't know what they were in for. I would not know what to do if there was a tsunami. I would stick with my family the whole way through this disaster. Many tsunami victims are unprepared for the destruction of the wave. How would you prepare? Would you be willing to leave all your belongs and take your family to a safer place? Here are some tips in case a tsunami strikes:
Preparing:
- You can turn on all electronics to listen for the warning.
- Make a list of necessary items to bring evacuating such as, food, water, blankets, clothes, and pets.
- Gather as much water as you can to stay hydrated.
- Don’t forget to grab a first aid kit and life jackets!
When the Tsunami Strikes:
- Move to higher ground.
- leave your Life Jackets on at all times!
- Gather all your supplies and find a safe place for your family to stay
- Try to evacuate as far as you can from the shoreline
I hope these tips were helpful! Tsunamis are very dangerous! Tsunamis destroy towns near the coast of countries. People's lives, memories, and much more are gone forever in the waves of the tsunami. Keep safe and look after yourself and your family, if you could be at risk for a tsunami. Here are the resources I used:
